1. More Pet Business Owners Becoming Pet Boss Club® Members!

In 2023, we welcomed 122 New Pet Boss Club® members across the pet industry– including pet retailers, pet care providers, dog boarding and daycare owners, groomers, dog trainers, and MORE!

In the Pet Boss Club, our members have been busy laying the foundational pieces in their pet businesses to experience more growth! We are so honored to be able to stretch our impact in the small business community and support our members in building thriving pet businesses!

Plus, they’ve been TALKING! In our private Pet Boss Club® Facebook community, we’ve had:

2. Pet Boss Baby’s Arrival!

It says a lot about a small business (and its CEO) to plan and successfully execute a FULL maternity leave… and Candace did so this year! She was able to spend 45 straight days welcoming her newest addition to her family, Pet Boss Baby Carmine!

She welcomed Carmine into the world on February 14th, 2023 (yes, a little Valentine’s Day love!❤️) And life has been all the better ever since.

Candace set the Pet Boss team up for success, and everything ran smoothly while she was gone and soaking in those newborn snuggles. We did it, Candace did it, and now we have a new Baby Pet Boss to love on!

3. Pet Business Bootcamp Success!

In July 2023, we hosted over 700 pet business owners at our virtual Pet Business Bootcamp! 💪

It was a week-long event where we REALLY flexed our marketing muscles and dove into actionable trainings, Q+A sessions, and so much more. Our attendees walked away with the confidence to gain more customers, sales, and revenue with an actionable PLAN!

4. The Pet Boss Mastermind Launch!

In 2023, we also launched the first cohort of the Pet Boss Mastermind™ for pet business owners who have built solid foundations inside their pet businesses but are ready for higher-level goal planning.

The Pet Boss Mastermind™ is a smaller group that leverages the power of proximity to fellow pet business owners who are in similar stages of growth… and WOW, they have accomplished so much together already! (In fact, take a peek at their wins in this blog post!)

5. In-Person With Pet Business Owners At SuperZoo 2023!

SuperZoo 2023 was MORE than just a pet industry expo in the Pet Boss Nation® world. It was also:

1- Carmine’s first expo AND flight (yup, to Las Vegas at 6 months old!)

2- An in-person reminder of the impact Pet Boss Nation (and Candace!) is having on the pet industry.

Not only did Pet Boss Nation® participate in pop-up events with brand partners (like Boss Dog and Cat Brand and PETS+ Magazine), but Candace took the stage and presented to over 100 tradeshow attendees. The buzz at SuperZoo solidified Pet Boss Nation’s brand recognition, and our impact on pet business owners was more evident than ever! Read about more of our highlights here!

6. Adding A New Team Member to Pet Boss Nation®!

Pet Boss Nation has a team that gets. Things. DONE.

And in 2023, we added a new member to our team whose support we are so lucky and thrilled to have!

You’ve probably seen her guest-starring in some lives with Candace or popping into a Facebook comments section to offer her advice or words of encouragement, but if you haven’t, you’re bound to see MORE of our Social Media Manager, Amanda Nelson, in 2024!

Her positive energy radiates; when we tell you it’s contagious, we mean it. She’s a powerhouse Pet Boss Nation team member, and we can’t wait to see what we can accomplish with her support in 2024!

7. The Boss Your Business Podcast is Bossing The Rankings!

The Boss Your Business Podcast is about to wrap up its SECOND season, and the statistics just keep getting more and more WOW-worthy!

That’s over 6,000 people doing this pet business owner thing, too– so they can relate to you, learn from you, and offer their advice when you need it.

The amount of community-building and support that we’re fostering in our group just keeps getting bigger and better, so if you haven’t joined yet, make sure to get in there and join the conversation!

9. Candace’s Goodbye To A Pet Boss Nation Furry Family Member.

We can’t let a 2023 milestone list go by without mentioning Candace’s soul dog, Clover, and the heart-wrenching goodbye that took place this year.

Clover is a mascot face in the Pet Boss Nation brand, but beyond that, she has been by Candace’s side through so many big “life” moments– all of her days of owning her pet businesses, meeting and marrying her husband, starting and growing Pet Boss Nation, Carmine’s birth. Clover has been a source of comfort, support, and companionship through it all.

Clover may have left Candace physically in 2023, but her impact and legacy will live on forever. She is so missed.

10. The FIRST Pet Boss Nation® Planner Launch!

The very first Pet Boss Nation Planner, a year in the making, was finally released and…

It sold out in less than three hours!
