5 Holiday Season Gift Ideas for Your Suppliers
Who is working hard to ensure your shelves are stocked, your deliveries are on time, and you are always up to date with the best merchandise for your customer base? And no, it’s not Santa’s elves (although… it would be nice to borrow them, wouldn’t it?)
Your suppliers, vendors, and their fantastic delivery drivers!
So the holidays are the perfect time to show those hard-working individuals some extra cheery love and appreciation.
A few weeks ago, we did a deep dive into how to show both your team and your customers your appreciation (check out that blog here), and now it’s time to spotlight your suppliers.
As the holidays approach, don’t get caught at the last minute without a small token of appreciation to offer your suppliers and/or delivery drivers. Think about what you’d like to gift them now, so you don’t get swept up in the busy holiday whirlwind and need a last-minute gift!
Here are five paw-some gift ideas for your suppliers and delivery drivers:
1. Handwritten cards with a tip inside.
A handwritten card offers the personalization that will give your vendors the warm fuzzies, but complete the gesture with a well-deserved cash tip or gift card! They’re bound to be thankful for extra spending money heading into the (typically expensive) holiday season.
2. Something unique from your shop.
Make it something they can not order themselves but would appreciate for their furry best friends. This could be handmade pet bandanas, cookies, treats, or clothes from a unique vendor.
Make sure you ask about their pets in advance, so you’re aware of sizing or any dietary restrictions.
This idea doubles as a gift for your vendor AND an opportunity to further support another small business supplying the gift. A win-win!
3. A gift certificate for your store.
Have you noticed your delivery drivers admiring some of your merchandise? Do you know they have pets who would love some of your items?
Let them take a break from just delivering the goods to shop for some! Offering a gift certificate to your shop is a pleasant surprise for a supplier delivery driver who thinks it’ll just be another “day at the office.” If they live locally, even better! They can return and shop with their pet and family after they clock out.
4. Your company swag.
Let your vendors represent! Sweatshirts, hats, t-shirts, or mugs with your company logo on them make a perfect personalized gift for the people that help to make your pet business possible.
If you plan to gift some swag, collect sizes in advance, so you know what to set aside for gifts. Your vendors will love representing your business, and your relationship will surely become more tight-knit.
5. Make a charitable contribution.
You can never go wrong with making a charitable contribution in the name of someone who supports your business. ‘Tis the season of giving to those in need, so it’s an ideal gesture that shows your appreciation but also gives back, and that’s what the holidays are about anyway.

It takes a village to run a pet business, and when you find suppliers that you love, who never let you down and help you keep your store stocked and ready, of course, you want to find the perfect gift to show them your appreciation!
*BONUS IDEA* If something yummy is the way to their heart, support another small business in town that makes delicious treats! Perhaps a bakery or candy shop. You can’t go wrong!
