Lessons Learned Under the Las Vegas Lights: SuperZoo 2023 Quick Recap

From August 16th to 18th, 2023, pet professionals from far and wide gathered at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center for an experience like no other– SuperZoo! 

🐾 Over 18,000 pet professionals were in attendance. 

🐾 A 10% increase from the previous year! 

🐾 Attendees from 84 different countries and ALL 50 states! 

This pet industry extravaganza is one of the grandest industry trade shows brought to life by the World Pet Association. 

Whether you attended this year or not, we’re bringing you a quick recap of the highlights, insights, and themes that unfolded for Candace, the CEO and founder of Pet Boss Nation. No, she didn’t win BIG at the slots, but she did win BIG while connecting with pet industry peers and showing up in her business. And you can take a lot away from the lessons she picked up along the way! 

Here are 3 of the most impactful lessons learned from SuperZoo 2023:

1. You WILL see the fruits of your marketing labor! 

Having opportunities to connect with Pet Boss Nation® followers, supporters, and Club members in person was especially eye-opening this year. Candace hit the show floor, and with every few steps she took, someone was sure to stop her and ask, “Are you the Pet Boss?!” 

There were even some REALLY inspirational stories that pet business owners told her (and thanked her for) about how they used her advice and teachings to turn their pet businesses around and find the success they’d been seeking! 

Candace was reminded of the impact Pet Boss Nation is making on pet business owners’ lives, especially after hearing tangible stories of transformation. She was also reminded of how showing up in your marketing consistently is so important to your business’ growth! 

SuperZoo 2023 was a complete manifestation of the commitment to marketing Pet Boss Nation has made, and Candace experienced that ripple effect firsthand. 

Even on the days when you think no one is “watching” your social media posts, reading your emails, or paying attention to what your business is doing– they are! Stick with it, stay consistent, and build your brand! 

2. Relationships are everything. 

The beauty of SuperZoo is that the relationships formed and the influence they have on you and your pet business extend FAR beyond the duration of the event! A single interaction can potentially ignite new business, new opportunities, or lead to brand-new innovations. 

Plus, it’s a two-way street. You never know the positive influence you might have on someone else, and on the flip side, you might be sparked by someone you meet and start taking transformative action soon after being inspired! 

SuperZoo 2023 was a reminder that relationships are catalysts for good things to happen within the pet industry. Don’t forget to make time to rekindle standing relationships and form new ones to help you and your pet business flourish! 

3. Perspective + Showing Up = Success. 

When you invest your time, energy, and resources in events like SuperZoo, the key is how you choose to show up. You must embrace a mindset that turns every moment into an opportunity for growth and learning. By doing so, you’ll make your experience productive and useful for your business!

The first step, though? Showing up. Candace just had a baby this year, but did she let being a brand new Pet Boss Mom stop her from attending SuperZoo this year? No way. In fact, she even brought baby Pet Boss, Carmine, along for the ride and leaned into what it means to be a successful business owner AND mom!

She went into SuperZoo as a new mom with an openness and curiosity to experience the tradeshow in a new light, and she did JUST that.
