5 Simple Games To Play At Your Pet Business Event

Pet Boss Nation 5 Simple Games To Play At Your Pet Business Event

Has your pet business ever hosted an event?

Events are a great way to bring your customers together, attract new customers, and really get a chance to interact with everyone! Plus, you’ll get people browsing your store, or learning more about your business and build lasting and real relationships with your clients. It’s such a big win!

Playing games at your events is a fun way to get your customers to interact with each other and do something fun with their pets. The best games will ensure it’s an experience to remember and keep them coming back for more interaction with you and your pet business.

There are tons of game ideas, but, we’ve narrowed it down to a few of our favorites that are fun and easy to implement!

The Digging Box

All you need for this one is a kiddie pool and some kiddie balls (like these. Bonus points if you can find your brand colors!). Hide treats, small toys, and other fun items at the bottom of the pool, and enjoy watching dogs find and dig out their well-earned prize!

Bobbin’ For Hotdogs

This is every dog’s DREAM game! All you need is a kiddie pool, some water, and some hot dogs to create hours of entertainment. Have pets take turns bobbing for the hotdogs (or maybe a more natural, dog friendly treat) in the water, and offer a prize for the dogs who do it successfully (and there’s bound to be a high success rate with this one). If you have a product (like a toy or treat) that will float to use in place of the hotdogs, you can use that too for creating a distraction! Set up a display next to the game for the pet parents who want to treat their dog to that desirable treat or toy.

Pet Trivia

Do a little bit of research and come up with a list of fun pet-related trivia questions! You can display the questions on a projector or TV, or put the question on the outside of the envelope and the answer on a card inside, or just read them out loud. Get creative with your “buzzers” by using pet training clickers or a squeaky toy. Take two contestants at a time, and whoever answers the most questions wins a prize!

Catch the Treat

Get your pet parents to stand approximately 5 feet in front of their pets. Give each owner ten small, tasty treats which they’ve got to toss to their pup one at a time. The dog that catches the most treats is the winner, and might even win a bag of those yummy treats!

Scooby Says

“Simon Says”, but make it pawsome! Line up your participants and offer basic “Scooby Says” commands like “sit”, and “stay”. The last pup standing who is laser-focused on their owner’s commands is the winner!

The games at your pet business event don’t have to be complicated to be FUN! These are examples of games that are easy to set up, easy to play, and easy to win. Pet parents and dogs will appreciate that you went the extra mile to enhance their experience.

And if you’re not sure what to hand out for prizes, here are a few simple ideas:

  • Award Certificates/Trophies
  • Coupons
  • Gift cards
  • Raffle tickets for a giveaway
  • A free item

Have fun with it, and don’t forget to drop a note in our free Facebook community to let us know how your event went!
